Quality
Translations may form only a small part of your commercial communications, but that is no reason to compromise on quality. After all, a perfect translation may slip by unnoticed, but a poor translation will attract the wrong kind of attention from your customers. This explains why we focus so strongly on quality.
Selection of Translators
The quality assurance process begins by selecting the very best translators. A painstaking system of peer reviews is used to establish the quality and areas of expertise of each individual. Generally speaking, a legal translator will have a very different skill set than a copy translator. It goes without saying that we work according to the native speaker principle, which means that translators only translate into their native language.
Meticulous Revision
Performing a thorough revision is also crucial to producing flawless translations. Each translation is carefully reviewed by a proofreader, who speaks the target language as a native or second language. Translators are only human, so it is virtually impossible for any individual to produce an error-free document. This means that the proofreader plays an indispensable role in the process.
Industry organisation
The Language Lab has been a member of the VViN, Vereniging van Vertaalbureaus in Nederland (Association of Translation Agencies in the Netherlands) for many years, the leading Dutch industry association for translation agencies. This means that, in the unlikely event that a dispute were to arise, you can be safe in the knowledge that there’s someone you can turn to.
